Randy,
Regarding your comments about protocol made on February 25, 2010 at 10:42 p.m.:
Am I to read from this that you now regret the labels you have bestowed on President Obama in the last year?
The majority of doctors in the United States support health care reform.

I wanted to write something about the "elitist liberal" label that seems to get applied to us leftists so often here and elsewhere: I'm a liberal progressive. I believe accountable government legislation is the best way to make the United States a better country for all of us. I believe in public schools, public libraries, public arts, etc.. I'm hardly an elitist, out of touch snob.
For example,
I've been in a limosine twice, each time under circumstances nobody would envy.
I've been to Europe, but only on the cheapest flights and only because I stayed in hostels.
I've never been able to purchase a new car.
I have a lot of books, but most were purchased used or at library sales.
The list goes on.
The reason I believe progressive legislation works is because it is an investment in human capital for all of us. And it works, too. I'm a product of it, and I'll bet a bunch of us here are, two: How many of us learned to read because of public education? How many of us went through college because of Pell grants and government subsidized loans? How many of us have grandparents who benefit from social security? How many of us visit National Parks? Use the interstate highway system? Bought a house using an FHA loan?
Roger, I don't know if you are aware of this, but there is news about the Vickers Theater in Three Oaks:

I called David Fink at the Acorn. The band might play at the party.
