One would think that a movie about a Catholic sex scandal would not play well in South Bend, Indiana, but the 4:50 p.m. screening I attended proved otherwise. The theater was nearly full.
The movie is about a parish school and church in 1964, in the Bronx. Old habit-wearing nuns teach inner city kids. I grew up in public schools in the 1970's and 1980's, so whether the setting was accurate is lost to me. My guess would be that these kids would have some Beatle-haircuts by that winter, but I could be wrong.
